Larry Lee Jackson

Larry Lee Jackson, 84, of Kirksville, Missouri, formerly of Green Castle, Missouri, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Larry was born on February 13, 1941 in Green Castle to Daniel Lee and Ruby Alene (Snyder) Jackson. Larry lived most of his life in the Green Castle area. He graduated from Green City High School in 1959. On June 24, 1959 he married his wife of 65 years, Beverly (White) Jackson and she survives of the home. Also surviving are: three daughters; Teresa (Ervan) Dolan of Green Castle, Becky Sanders of Raytown, Missouri, Stephanie (Eric) Search of Green Castle, and his four legged son, Wade; grandchildren, Jeremiah (Karla) Jackson, Angella (Shaun) Holt, Ashley Jackson (C.H.), Shelby (Matt) Fox, Shawnee (Michael) Adams, Hannah Sanders, Cooper (Chelsea) Sanders, and Rachael (Hunter) Chase; Great Grandchildren, Ali (Ty) Williams, Laney Jackson (Caleb), Jett, Jagger, Samuel, and Sophie Jackson, Grayden Holt (Emma), Brooklyn Holt, Abigail Fox, Ivy Adams, Bentley, Carley, and Riley Search, and Walker Chase; a great great grandson, Axel Bode; a special nephew, Monte (Sis) Jackson of Connelsville, Missouri; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by: His parents; a son, Van Jackson; Grandson, Jericho Search; and a brother, Ralph Jackson.

After marrying Beverly, they moved to Kansas City where he worked at 7UP Bottling Co. for 8 years before moving back to Green Castle. Larry ran a milk route in Northeast Missouri and Southeast Iowa then owned and operated Jackson’s DX in Green Castle for many years before driving a truck for area truck owners. For a few years Larry worked at the City of Green Castle in City Maintenance before going to work for MFA Propane in Milan and Macon, driving his favorite propane truck “Floss” and becoming the manager there, retiring after several years.

Larry was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed truck pulling, 4-wheeler races, and farming. He most loved hunting and fishing with his grandkids and watching the kids play any sports.

A funeral service for Larry will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri. Burial followed at Green Castle Cemetery in Green Castle. A visitation is scheduled for 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday evening, at the funeral home with a Masonic service at 7:45 PM.
