Edith A. Guiles, 73, of Green Castle, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Milan Health Care Center in Milan, Missouri.
Edith was born April 5, 1951 in Rockford, Illinois. In September of 1970 her family moved to Missouri, and she married Curt on Christmas Eve in 1998. Survivors include: Her husband, Curt of the home; a son, Pattrick Abels and wife Jalina of Camdenton, Missouri; 2 grandsons, Justin (Theresa) Loven and Zachary (Liz) McBride; 7 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Craig (Trudy) Guiles of Kirksville, Missouri; an aunt, Catherine Shafer of Kirksville; nephews, Chris Norman and Bradley Guiles; a niece, Bailey Guiles; cousins, Brenda Hudson of San Antonio, Texas, Brent and Taryn Shafer of Kirksville, Randall and Glenda Shafer of Kirksville, Tammy Shafer of Green City, Lanie and Brett Lewis of Green Castle, Kyle and Morgan Buckallew of Lancaster, Charlie Shafer of Kirksville, Logan Shafer (Rachel) of Green City, Chris and Gentrie Zeller of Pilot Grove, Trevor and Jalynn Shafer of Green City, Justin and Caressa Shafer of Kansas City, Jordan Shafer (Sarah) of Kirksville, and Jared and Alyssa Shafer of Kirksville.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Ed Guiles; a brother-in-law, Rex Guiles and a cousin, Roger Shafer.
Edith worked as a nurse at Twin Pines in Kirksville for 15 years. She enjoyed crocheting, car shows, going to truck pulls, and riding side-by-sides. Edith most loved spending time with her family and friends.
A visitation for Edith will be held 6:00 PM to 7:45 PM with a memorial service at 7:45 PM, Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home in Green City, Missouri. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at the Green Castle Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to go to Curt Guiles.
