Gary Lee Moyers, 86, of Gibbs, Missouri, passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer on Friday, November 22, 2024 at his home.
The son of the late Lewellyn Thomas and Edna Francis (Scott) Moyers, he was born June 18, 1938 in Gibbs, Missouri. On November 26, 1958 in Edina, Missouri, Gary was united in marriage to Brenda Mattocks who preceded him in death on June 14, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Aria Leigh Songer, and his special friend Carolyn Landreth in January of 2020.
Gary is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Tina and Jim Fitzpatrick of Gibbs, MO, Gina and Rusty Smith of Kirksville, MO, and Ronda and Ronnie Sprout of Gibbs, MO; one sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Ken Barnes of Kirksville, MO; two sisters-in-law, Judy (Bruce) Roberts of Quincy, IL, and Vickie (Don) Combs of Willmathsville, MO; six grandchildren, Aaron Norfolk, Cody Norfolk, Jordon (Matt) Songer, Jake (Saundra) Smith, Adam (Kayla) Songer, and Lew (Megan) Smith; and several great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Public visitation will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home with Pastor Raymond Magruder officiating. Interment will follow the service at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
