Michael D. Buck, 67, of La Plata, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024, at his home.
Born January 18, 1957, in Kirksville, Missouri, the son of Bobby and Verna (Pippin) Buck. On April 29, 2000, he was united in marriage to Joyce Gregory who preceded him in death on November 24, 2020.
Also preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Patricia Lynn Kirkpatrick; five aunts, Stella Tuggle, Peggy Thomas, Judy Brown, Cora Voyles and Irene (Buck) McIntosh; three uncles, Jimmy Pippin, Virgil Pippin, and Dillon Magers; and one brother-in-law, Leonard Hamlin.
Surviving is one son, Aaron (Natalie) Wiseman of Safety Harbor, Florida; two daughters, Holly Funk of Columbia, Missouri and Carmen Hopkins of Union, Missouri; two brothers, Eddie (Sharon) Buck and W.R. “Dub” (Barbara) Buck, both of Kirksville, Missouri; one sister, Bobbi Lou Hamlin of Kirksville, Missouri; two uncles, Glen (Sherry) Pippin and Loren (Patsy) Pippin, both of La Plata, Missouri; one aunt, Donna (Bill) Shelton of Edgerton, Kansas; nine nieces and nephews, Lynnette and Jimmy Kirkpatrick, Emily (Josh) Hettinger, Adrienne (Eli) Black, Wes (Alisha) Buck, Brad (Katie) Buck, Dakota McKenzie, Nancy McKenzie-Adams, and Eva “Bucky” Buck; and one grandchild, Teryn Wiseman.
Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
