Bobby Leon Kirkpatrick, age 81, of Brashear Missouri passed away, in his daughter Stacie’s arms, at the University Hospital in Columbia Missouri, Wednesday April 17th, 2024.
Bobby was born in Milan Missouri May 9th, 1942, to Delmar and Alta (Morton) Kirkpatrick. The family moved from Milan to LaPlata when Bobby was just a toddler. He then started his education at Prairie View School, a one room schoolhouse, near LaPlata then graduating from LaPlata High School in 1960.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dorothy Jean (Kirkpatrick) Person and husband Bill, three nephews Terry, Jim, and Mike Person, two grandsons, Jayme Richards and Joseph Misheal Jennings, and a sister-in law Bonnie Kirkpatrick.
Bobby is survived by his four daughters: Stacie Pauls and her husband Jamie of Chillicothe Missouri, JoAnn Kirkpatrick of Omaha Nebraska, Lisa Jennings and her husband Ron of Macon Missouri, Tammy Nute of Kirksville Missouri, and one son Michel Kirkpatrick of Macon Missouri, one brother William Douglas Kirkpatrick of LaPlata Missouri, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a multitude of lifelong friends in the Brashear, Gibbs, and LaPlata communities, his beloved dog Bear, and his two Hemmingway cats Beckett-Ray and Cooper-Lee, who he lovingly called “The Monsters.”
There will be a celebration of life service on Tuesday, April 30th, at Countryside Christian Church in Kirksville Missouri with a visitation from 2 to 4pm with the service starting at 4. There will be a private family and friends graveside service at Pleasant Home Cemetery near Worthington Missouri, at a later date.
