NATIONAL LEAGUE
San Francisco 8 – PITTSBURGH 4 (10 innings)… Michael Conforto and Patrick Bailey lined two-run doubles during a five-run top of the 10th inning that carried the Giants past the Pirates. Joc Pederson lifted a tie-breaking sacrifice fly to spark the uprising.
PHILADELPHIA 7 – San Diego 6 (12 innings)… Kyle Schwarber smacked a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth inning and his sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 12th inning brought home Edmundo Sosa with the winning run as the Phillies came from three runs down to outlast the Padres. Both teams scored single runs in the 10th. Bryson Stott also homered for Philadelphia.
Milwaukee 4 – CINCINNATI 3… Owen Miller tied the game with a sacrifice fly and Andruw Monasterio added a go-ahead RBI single in the top of the eighth inning as the Brewers squeezed past the Reds. Christian Yelich homered and singled home a run.
ST. LOUIS 8 – Washington 4… Paul DeJong homered with a runner aboard and Nolan Gorman added a solo shot as the Cardinals doubled up on the Nationals. Gorman also singled home a run. Jack Flaherty (7-5) allowed three runs on three hits over six innings.
N.Y. METS 2 – L.A. Dodgers 1 (10 innings)… Pinch-hitter Luis Guillorme came through with a double in the bottom of the 10th inning to score Brett Baty and give the Mets a walkoff win over the Dodgers. Brandon Nimmo’s infield grounder in the fifth brought home Starling Marte with the game’s first run. New York starter Max Scherzer allowed just one hit over seven scoreless innings but didn’t get a decision.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
KANSAS CITY 8 – Tampa Bay 4… Bobby Witt Jr. knocked in three runs with a homer and a triple to help lead the Royals past the Rays. MJ Melendez doubled home a run and homered with the bases empty. Kansas City starter Brady Singer (6-8) tossed seven scoreless innings.
TEXAS 6 – Cleveland 5… Josh Jung’s two-run single capped a four-run bottom of the eighth inning that lifted the Rangers over the Guardians. Nathaniel Lowe drove in two runs with a pair of singles. Marcus Semien hit a solo homer.
Minnesota 5 – OAKLAND 4… The Twins erased a three-run deficit after five innings to get past the Athletics and finish off a series sweep. Alex Kirilloff hit a solo homer in the top of the fifth inning and added a go-ahead bases-clearing double in the seventh. Christian Vazquez also homered for Minnesota.
SEATTLE 2 – Detroit 0… Bryce Miller (6-3) scattered five hits over five innings and got help from four Mariners relievers in the shutout of the Tigers. Jared Kelenic doubled home J.P. Crawford with the only run Seattle needed in the top of the first inning. Cal Raleigh added a fourth-inning homer.
Houston 9 – L.A. ANGELS 8… The Astros came from four runs down after seven innings to top the Angels. Alex Bregman hit a go-ahead two-run homer and Kyle Tucker followed with a decisive homer in a four-run top of the ninth inning. Chas McCormick homered twice and knocked in three runs. Wil Meyers also went deep.
INTERLEAGUE
Chi. White Sox 8 – ATLANTA 1… Dylan Cease (4-3) held the Braves to a run on three hits over five innings and got plenty of support in the White Sox win. Jake Burger and Luis Robert Jr. hit two-run homers. Robert also singled home a run.
BALTIMORE 5 – Miami 4… The Orioles took a 5-0 lead into the ninth inning and hung on to edge the Marlins for their eighth straight win. Anthony Santander’s two-run homer capped a three-run bottom of the first. Kyle Bradish (6-4) pitched three-hit ball over 7-1/2 scoreless innings.
TORONTO 7 – Arizona 5… Danny Jansen cleared the bases with a double and scored during a four-run bottom of the eighth inning to provide the Blue Jays with the winning margin in the defeat of the Diamondbacks. Vladimir Guerrero lifted a tie-breaking sacrifice fly in the fifth.
Boston 11 – CHI. CUBS 5… The Red Sox built an 11-0 lead through 7-1/2 innings in their drubbing of the Cubs. Masataka Yoshida unloaded a grand slam and legged out a two-run triple. Triston Casas contributed a pinch-hit two-run homer. Rafael Devers also went deep for Boston.
COLORADO 8 – N.Y. Yankees 7 (11 innings)… The Rockies rallied from two runs down in the bottom of the 11th inning to stun the Yankees. Nolan Jones hit a leadoff two-run homer and Alan Trejo connected for a game-winning solo shot. Michael Toglia hit a solo homer and C.J. Cron unloaded a grand slam for Colorado.
