NATIONAL LEAGUE
PITTSBURGH 7 – San Diego 1… Mitch Keller (9-3) held the Padres to a run on four hits over six innings and the Pirates breezed to the win. Carlos Santana homered with a runner aboard in the bottom of the first inning. Connor Joe and Henry Davis stroked two-run singles during a five-run seventh.
Milwaukee 5 – N.Y. METS 2… Blake Perkins singled home a tie-breaking run in the top of the sixth inning and Christian Yelich added a two-run single in the eighth as the Brewers put away the Mets. Jesse Winker opened the scoring with a two-run double in the first.
Philadelphia 8 – CHI. CUBS 5… Edmundo Sosa homered with a runner aboard and Nick Castellanos added a three-run shot during a five-run top of the second inning and the Phillies went on to down the Cubs. Castellanos also doubled home a run and scored on Bryce Harper’s single in the fourth.
COLORADO 9 – L.A. Dodgers 8… The Rockies built a four-run lead and then came from two runs down to upend the Dodgers in a back-and-forth contest. Ezequiel Tovar gave Colorado the lead for good with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the sixth inning. Randal Grichuk produced a two-run single.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
TEXAS 10 – Detroit 2… Adolis Garcia had three hits, including a two-run homer and an RBI double,to lead the Rangers in their thrashing of the Tigers. Ezequiel Duran and Josh Jung each added a solo homer and a run-scoring single.
Cleveland 14 – KANSAS CITY 1… José Ramírez unloaded a grand slam to open the scoring in the top of the first inning and doubled home a run as the Guardians dismantled the Royals. Josh Bell homered with a runner aboard and stroked a two-run double. Five Cleveland pitchers held Kansas City to five hits.
Chi. White Sox 11 – L.A. ANGELS 5… Seby Zavala hit a pair of solo homers and lined a two-run single in leading the White Sox past the Angels. Luis Robert Jr. homered with a runner aboard and Eloy Jiménez also went deep.
N.Y. Yankees 11 – OAKLAND 0… Domingo Germán (5-5) tossed the 24th perfect game in MLB history and the fourth in Yankees history as the Yankees crushed the Athletics. He struck out nine and threw 99 pitches. Giancarlo Stanton homered and singled home two runs for New York. Josh Donaldson and Isiah Kiner-Falefa drove in two runs apiece.
INTERLEAGUE
ATLANTA 3 – Minnesota 0… Five pitchers combined on a four-hitter as the Braves blanked the Twins to complete a sweep of the series. Matt Olson doubled home the only run Atlanta needed in the bottom of the first inning and added a solo homer in the eighth.
Washington 4 – SEATTLE 1… Patrick Corbin (5-9) scattered six hits and struck out nine over seven scoreless innings and the Nationals cruised past the Mariners. Jeimer Candelario and Ildemaro Vargas lined run-scoring doubles for Washington. Keibert Ruiz delivered a two-run single.
TORONTO 6 – San Francisco 1… Five different players drove in runs during a five-run bottom of the first inning and the Blue Jays never looked back in their thumping of the Giants. Bowden Francis (1-0) worked four innings in relief of starter Trevor Richards to get the win.
Cincinnati 11 – BALTIMORE 7 (10 innings)… Will Benson tripled home a tie-breaking run ahead of J.T. Friedl’s two-run homer as the Reds scored four times in the top of the 10th inning to bury the Orioles. Jake Fraley produced a pair of RBI singles.
Miami 6 – BOSTON 1… Braxton Garrett (4-2) allowed just a run on three hits over five innings and the Marlins eased past the Astros. Jean Segura’s infield single brought home two runs during a three-run top of the sixth inning. Jazz Chisholm Jr. homered with the bases empty for Miami.
Houston 10 – ST. LOUIS 7… Jose Altuve belted a go-ahead three-run homer and Jose Abreu added a two-run shot during a five-run top of the eighth inning that powered the Astros past the Cardinals. Kyle Tucker went 3-for-5 with an RBI double. Martin Maldonado doubled home two more runs.
Tampa Bay 3 – ARIZONA 2… The Rays came alive to score all three runs in the top of the ninth inning and topple the Diamondbacks. Luke Raley’s RBI single put Tampa Bay on the board and Josh Lowe followed with a go-ahead two-run double.
