NATIONAL LEAGUE
PITTSBURGH 9 – San Diego 4… The Pirates rolled past the Padres after spotting them an early three-run lead. Carlos Santana hit a go-ahead homer to lead off the bottom of the third inning Jack Suwinski made it back-to-back. Nick Gonzales tripled home a run and homered.

N.Y. METS 7 – Milwaukee 2… Brandon Nimmo homered twice and knocked in three runs as the Mets cruised past the Brewers. Daniel Vogelbach homered with a runner aboard and Francisco Lindor smacked a solo shot.

Philadelphia 5 – CHI. CUBS 1… Ranger Suarez (2-2) allowed just a run on four hits over 7-1/3 innings and the Phillies cruised past the Cubs. Brandon Marsh hit a pair of homers and knocked in three runs.

L.A. Dodgers 5 – COLORADO 0… Clayton Kershaw (10-4) pitched one-hit ball over six innings and three Dodgers relievers completed the shutout of the Rockies. J.D. Martinez hit a pair of homers, including the 300th of his career, and drove in three runs.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
Cleveland 2 – KANSAS CITY 1… Will Brennan delivered a go-ahead two-run double in the top of the ninth inning and the Guardians hung on to top the Royals. The game featured a duel between Cleveland starter Gavin Williams and his counterpart Brady Singer but neither got a decision.

TEXAS 8 – Detroit 3… Ezequiel Duran’s tie-breaking solo homer sparked a five-run bottom of the eighth inning that sent the Rangers past the Tigers. Adolis Garcia’s two-run homer capped the scoring.

L.A. ANGELS 4 – Chi. White Sox 2… Shohei Ohtani (7-3) surrendered just a run on four hits and struck out 10 over 6-1/3 innings on the mound and supported his cause with a pair of solo homers in the Angels’ win over the White Sox. Newly acquired Mike Moustakas had a couple of hits, including a run-scoring single.

OAKLAND 2 – N.Y. Yankees 1… Seth Brown’s solo homer in the bottom of the fourth inning proved to be decisive as the Athletics held off the Yankees. Paul Blackburn (1-0) gave up a run on four hits over 5-1/3 innings.

INTERLEAGUE
San Francisco 3 – TORONTO 0… Patrick Bailey doubled home the only run the Giants needed in the top of the fifth inning and Thairo Estrada added a two-run double in the ninth as the Giants clipped the Blue Jays. Alex Wood (3-2) pitched five innings in relief of starter Ryan Walker to get the win.

Miami 10 – BOSTON 1… Bryan De La Cruz homered with a runner aboard and Garrett Cooper singled home a run in the top of the first inning and the Marlins never looked back in their throttling of the Red Sox. Jazz Chisholm Jr. drove in three runs with a pair of singles. Sandy Alcantara (3-6) allowed a run on six hits over seven innings.

ATLANTA 6 – Minnesota 2… Ronald Acuña hit a game-tying lead-off homer and the Braves also got first-inning homers from Sean Murphy and Austin Riley on their way past the Twins. Acuña and Michael Harris II added solo shots in the second. Bryce Eider (6-1) gave up two runs on four hits over six innings.

ST. LOUIS 4 – Houston 2… Jordan Montgomery (5-7) held the Astros to a run on six hits over 6-2/3 innings and the Cardinals grinded out a win. Paul DeJong hit a game-tying homer to lead off the bottom of the third inning and lifted a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the fourth.

Cincinnati 3 – BALTIMORE 1… The Reds eased past the Orioles in a contest that featured a long delay due to thunderstorms. Matt McLain doubled home a tying run in the top of the fourth inning and homered to lead off the sixth. TJ Friedl added a ninth-inning homer.

ARIZONA 8 – Tampa Bay 4… Corbin Carroll belted a three-run homer during a five-run bottom of the first inning and the Diamondbacks went on to double up on the Rays. Christian Walker, Evan Longoria and Ketel Marte hit solo shots for Arizona.

Washington 7 – SEATTLE 4 (11 innings)… Lane Thomas stroked a tie-breaking two-run double and scored on single in the top of the 11th inning to push the Nationals past the Mariners. Keibert Ruiz smacked a game-tying solo homer in the eighth.
