Richard “Rick” Leon Hatfield, 60, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at his home.
Born September 8, 1962 in Edina, Missouri, Rick was the son of the late Leon Nathan and Doris Jean (Florea) Hatfield. On May 18, 1985 in Brashear, Missouri, Rick was united in marriage to Lori McClanahan.
Rick is survived by his loving wife Lori of thirty-seven years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kari Hatfield and husband Joe Clubb of Mt. Pleasant, IA , and Sherri and Brent Potter of Novinger, MO; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Ivy Hatfield of Albany, GA, and Mark and Joni Hatfield of Montgomery, IL; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and David Mason, and Victoria and Glen Pruett all of Hurdland, MO; two grandchildren, Raylee and Bryson Potter, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Rick received his education in the Knox County public schools. He worked at Welch’s Cash Saver and Country Mart. Sharkey Transportation Inc. He enjoyed driving trucks and running heavy equipment. Rick also painted tractors and cars; a lot of the tractors were show quality tractors. He was a Nascar fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr. He also enjoyed going to the drag races to watch Kari & Joe race. When the family and friends got together for cookout’s and UTV rides, it was the best time Rick had. He is proud of his Camaro it reminded him of the one he used to have years ago. He enjoyed having family and friends over to visit, especially his grandkids. He went fishing with Bryson and caught turtles! His favorite dog Sadie came to his home and wouldn’t leave, and then she became the best dog he ever had.
Rick was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church of Kirksville.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, with Pastor Larry Gibson officiating. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to service time. Interment will follow the service at Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
Pallbearers will be Joe Clubb, Brent Potter, Wayne Hatfield, Mark Hatfield, Ferrell McClanahan, and Lane McClanahan.
