MLB Scores Tuesday 7-12

NATIONAL LEAGUE
Pittsburgh 3 – MIAMI 2… Oneil Cruz tripled home a tie-breaking run and scored on Delay’s singled in the top of the fifth inning as the Pirates held on to edge the Marlins. Jake Marisnick homered for Pittsburgh.

ATLANTA 4 – N.Y. Mets 1… Two-run homers by Matt Olson and Adam Duvall carried the Braves past the Mets. Three relievers held New York hitless over 4-1/3 innings.

ST. LOUIS 7 – L.A. Dodgers 6… Andrew Knizner’s third RBI single of the game scored Lars Nootbaar with the decisive run in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Cardinals held off the Dodgers. Albert Pujols and Nolan Gorman hit solo homers for St. Louis.

COLORADO 5 – San Diego 3… Charlie Blackmon cracked a three-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning to lead the Rockies past the Padres. Austin Gomber (5-7) surrendered a run on six hits over six innings.

SAN FRANCISCO 13 – Arizona 0… Logan Webb (8-3) pitched five-hit ball over six innings and got plenty of support as the Giants walloped the Diamondbacks. Thairo Estrada homered twice and drove in three runs. Yermin Mercedes went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and four RBIs. Joey Bart also went deep.

AMERICAN LEAGUE
CLEVELAND 4 – Chi. White Sox 1… Shane Bieber (4-5) allowed just a run on three hits in a complete-game win over the White Sox in the opener of a doubleheader. Amed Rosario drove in two runs with a pair of doubles for the Guardians. Jose Ramirez added a two-run single.

Chi. White Sox 7 – CLEVELAND 0… Dylan Cease (8-4) pitched five-hit ball over 5-2/3 innings and got help from three relievers as the White Sox blanked the Guardians to earn a split of the twinbill. Jose Abreu homered with a runner aboard and Luis Robert blasted a three-run shot for Chicago.

TAMPA BAY 3 – Boston 2… Francisco Mejia’s run-scoring single sparked a three-run bottom of the sixth inning that gave the Rays the lead for good in their win over the Red Sox. Corey Kluber (5-5) gave up two runs on four hits over six innings.

Oakland 14 – TEXAS 7 (12 innings… The Athletics erupted to score eight runs in the top of the 12th inning to put away the Rangers after blowing a two-run ninth-inning lead. Chad Pinter’s grand slam highlighted the big inning. Sean Murphy went 4-for-5 and drove in two runs.

Detroit 7 – KANSAS CITY 5… The Tigers took advantage of two errors to break a tie and score four runs in the top of the seventh inning on their way past the Royals. Miguel Cabrera knocked in two runs. Javier Baez had two hits and scored twice.

Houston 6 – L.A. ANGELS 5… The Astros recovered to top the Angels after blowing a four-run lead. Kyle Tucker doubled home Jose Altuve with a tie-breaking run in the top of the ninth inning. Aledmys Diaz homered with a runner aboard.

INTERLEAGUE
Cincinnati 4 – N.Y. YANKEES 3… The Reds came alive to score all four runs in the top of the ninth inning and upend the Yankees. Jonathan India’s two-run single capped the uprising.

TORONTO 4 – Philadelphia 3… Lourdes Gurriel, Jr., went 4-for-4 with a solo homer as the Blue Jays edged the Phillies. Teoscar Hernandez got things going with a two-run double in the bottom of the first inning.

Milwaukee 6 – MINNESOTA 3… The Brewers got two-run homers from Andrew McCutchen and Willy Adames in doubling up on the Twins. Jace Petersen went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Baltimore 4 – CHI. CUBS 2… Jordan Lyles (6-7) held the Cubs to two runs on seven hits over seven innings and two Orioles relievers shut the door. Ramon Urias hit a two-run homer for Baltimore. Jorge Mateo added a solo shot.

Seattle – WASHINGTON (ppd)… Rain in the nation’s capital forced postponement of last night’s Nationals-Mariners game. It will be made up as part of a doubleheader today.
