Madeline “Maddie” Geraldine (Roe) Easley, 78, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
The daughter of the late Robert W. and Eula L. (Sullivan) Roe, she was born July 19, 1943 in Kirksville, Missouri. Madeline was also preceded in death by two sisters, Donna J. Felt, and Della J. Cooley; one brother, Robert “Bobby” Roe; one granddaughter, Allison B. Conner and one great-grandson, Joseph Ewert.
Maddie is survived by three daughters, Sandi Conner of Kirksville, MO, Sheila Risher of Brashear, MO, and Kathy (Dirk) Franklin of Kirksville, MO; one son, Eldon Risher of Brashear, MO; five grandchildren, Natoshia (Blake) Rogers of LaPlata, MO, Lindsey Harrison of Columbia, MO, Elizabeth Harrison of Kirksville, MO, Jessica (Jared) Osborn of Burlington, IA, and Roy Steward of Kirksville, MO, along with ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Maddie attended school in Kirksville, Missouri. From the early 1970’s until 1984, she worked for Florsheim Shoe Company. In the early 80’s, she was a founding member of the band, Black River Canyon. She moved to Florida in 1984 and got to travel all over Florida with the band. After moving home to Missouri, she was employed at Ortec Manufacturing until her retirement. She enjoyed music of all types and loved to sing and play the guitar. Maddie was a wonderful cook and was famous for her vegetable beef soup. She was also an accomplished quilter. Maddie loved spending time with her family, and her special dog friends, Minnie and Pixie, and Bob. She was also an avid Cardinals fan. Maddie will be dearly missed.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, withy Greg Dabney officiating. Arrangements were taken care of by Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
