Charles Phillip “Chuck” Porter II

Chuck Porter, 72, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Sunday (March 16, 2025) at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

The son of Charlie Porter and Dorothy (Gray) Porter, he was born August 9, 1952 in Kirksville, Missouri. On December 29, 1977 in Kirksville, Missouri, He was united in marriage to Thelma Della Roberts “Dee” Chuck is survived by his Wife Dee; two sisters; three sons and two daughters, two sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law, fourteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren. Charles and Tammy Porter of Kirksville, MO; Cary and Tonya Porter of La Plata, MO; Christina and Jim Kinkade of Hamilton, IL; Christopher James “CJ” Porter of Kirksville, MO and Lindsie and Ben Kelley of Lancaster, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Charmaine Porter.

Chuck was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1970. His hobbies and services included being a member of Assembly of God Church, La Plata MO. North East Missouri Amateur Radio Club of Kirksville Mo. North East Missouri Model Railroad Club of La Plata Mo. Boy Scouts Of America: He was awarded the Silver Beaver, District Award of Merit and Woodbadge. He also Completed a Doctorate in the College of Commissioner Science Prolific Wood carver of spoons and wood spirits.

He served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant in the security police and was a military explosives dog handler. Public visitation will be held Wednesday, March 19, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025 at the Assembly of God Church in La Plata, Missouri, with Mike Douthart, Donnie Skinner, and Dave Brown presiding Interment will follow the service at the Missouri State Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO.
