Norma Maxine (Clark) Purdy

Norma Maxine (Clark) Purdy, 94, of Harris, Missouri, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Norma was born on May 22, 1930, near Half Rock, Missouri to Loyd Clark and Gussie (Curtis) Clark. She was Baptized in June of 1946 at Half Rock Christian Church and later changed her membership to Harris Christian Church. On December 21, 1947, she married Lewis Purdy.

Norma is survived by children; Phyllis (Ronnie) Putnam of Harris, Mo, Judy (Ron) Hall of Newtown, Mo, Terry Purdy of Harris, Donna June (Jerry) Lewis of Lucerne, Mo, and Beth (John) Mino of Harris, Mo, grandchildren; Kelly (Brandi) Coin, Greg Putnam, Bryan (Heather) Coin, Tanya (Matt) Langhus, James Coin, Carla Faragher, Sharmyn (Juan) Garcia, Jeff Purdy, Jeremy (Tammy) Lewis, Stephanie (Justin) Oaks, Heather (Ryan) Markway, and Katie (Brandon) Harvey, step grandchildren; Amber Hall (Wally Weber), Kyle (Amy) Hall, and Rachel (WR) Dow, 32 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Lewis Purdy, sons; Gary Lewis Purdy and Perry Dennis Purdy, and sisters; Betty Smith and Donna Conner.

Norma lived most of her life in the Harris area. She worked for Green Hills Community Action Agency for 39 years before her retirement in April of 2005. She loved gardening and flowers. She also loved cooking meals and spending time with her family and friends.

A funeral service for Norma will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the Newtown Christian Church in Newtown, Missouri. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM. A private family burial will take place following the service at Harris Cemetery in Harris, Missouri.
