Floyd Lee Wilcox, 96, passed away on September 25, 2024, at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, MO, where he had been a resident for the past 5 months.
The son of Clarence R and Effie (Mendenhall) Wilcox, he was born in rural Schuyler County on May 16, 1928. On November 11, 1950, he and Annabell Buster were united in marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Charlie Wilcox, Ralph Wilcox and Wife Nettie, and one sister Nellie McFarland and husband Hershel. Two sons-in-law, Jerry Myers and Robert Kain and one daughter-in-law Kathryn Kain.
He is survived by his grandchildren: Rodney Fincher of Kirksville, MO, Sonya (Randy) Ferrell of Ellisville, MO, Shana (John) Omoresemi of O’Fallon, MO, Ced (Jennifer) Gilworth of Unionville, MO, Ian (Lacey) Gilworth of Unionville, MO, Derek (Cassy) Gilworth of Trenton, MO, Chris (Mui) Myers of Palm Beach, FL, Colby (Caitlin) Myers of Franklin, TN, Andrew (Katherine) Wilcox of Olathe, MO, Eric (Devyn) Wilcox of Kansas City, MO, Susan (Chris) Trisler of Afton, IA, Richard (Tina) Lourens of Butler, PA, Aaron Kain of Urbandale, IA, Joseph Kain of Des Moines, IA, Mathew (Kristi) Kain of Arvada, CO, Amber (Brad) Rewerts of Winterset, IA, Crystal (Alfred) Fletchall of Lamoni, IA, Michael Lourens of Des Moines, IA, and Justine Lourens of Des Moines, IA.
He is also survived by 36 great-grandchildren, 4 great, great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Dooley Funeral Home in Queen City, MO with Kim Wilcox officiating, . Burial will follow at the Lone Pine Cemetery, in Martinstown, MO. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
