Eugene Walker, 98 years old, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Putnam County Care Center in Unionville.
Eugene was born January 5, 1926 in Green City, Missouri to Charles and Esther (LaFaver) Walker. He grew up in Sullivan County with his eight siblings and graduated from Green City High School. He married Edna Mae (Peavler) Walker in 1944 and she preceded him in death in 2006. They had four children, Terry, deceased, Dennis, Brenda, and Douglas, deceased. They were active members of the Prairie Chapel Church in Green City.
Surviving are his two children, Dennis and Brenda, both of Green City, two grandchildren, Jonathon (Janae) Walker of Green City, Tyler (Brianna) Walker of Milan, and three great grandchildren, Kirsten, Jaxson, and Jamison. Also surviving are three sisters, Margorie Keith, Esta Fulghum, and Ruby Heppe, sister-in-law, Norma Walker, and brother-in-law, Jim Keith, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation and brief memorial service/celebration of life will be held at Prairie Chapel Church, south of Green City on Highway 129, on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
