E. Wayne Newman, surrounded by his family, went home to be with Jesus on Friday, August 9, 2024.
The son of Elmer and Lou Ella (Hern) Newman, he was born October 14, 1931 in Higbee, Missouri. On August 31, 1957 in Moberly, Missouri he married Jo Westfall. Wayne is survived by his wife, Jo; three daughters, Patricia Lyn (David) Bolton, Kimberly Gayle (Greg) Plett, and Julie Beth Newman; grandchildren, Amy (Aaron) Becker, Jennifer (Daniel) Chesser, Sarah Bolton, Kyle (Kelsey) Bolton, and Jacob (Carolyn) Plett; great grandchildren, Brody Becker, Addison Becker, Baylor Chesser, Clara Chesser, and Jack Plett arriving this December.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, T.R. Fisher and Donald Newman; and one sister, Hilda Burgin.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Playle-Rimer-Millard Family Funeral Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be Monday, August 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
