Edward Louis Tharp, 92 years old, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 at his home in Shawnee, Kansas surrounded by family. Ed was born September 16th, 1931 near Green City, MO to Helton L. (Doc) and Mary Agnes (Kidd) Tharp.
Ed is preceded in death by his Parents, one Brother Robert Tharp, and one Granddaughter, Ashley Lynn Williams.
Surviving are his Wife of 72 years Ruby Tharp, Son Bradly (Sharon) Tharp of Excelsior Springs, MO; Daughter Brenda (Don) Chandler of Shawnee KS, Granddaughter Amanda Williams of Overland Park and 2 Great Grandchildren Jackson Edward and Avery Lynn Shearer; Also surviving are Granddaughters Satori Tharp, Colby Chandler, Blair Chandler and Brother Steve Tharp as well as 2 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren along with several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Ed loved his Family dearly and will be missed greatly by all that knew him.
Funeral services for Ed will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Green City, Missouri. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, East of Green City. A visitation will be held one hour prior, starting at 10:00 AM, at the church. Ruschmeier- Smith Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Pallbearers will be: Don Chandler, Jack Shearer, Scott Tharp, Barry Reid, John Henry and Travis Hall.
