Donald Hugh McCoy, 87, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, May 23, 2024 at his home.
The son of the late James Verl and Vivian Gayle (Beever) McCoy, he was born October 7, 1936 in Shattuck, Oklahoma. He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Allison Nikole Pfeiffer and one grandson, Shane William Ferguson. On May 16, 1964 in Halstead, Kansas, Donald was united in marriage to Carol Gay McElwain.
Don is survived by his wife Carol of sixty years; his two adopted children, Ann Marie Ferguson of Kirksville, MO, and Shawn Michael McCoy and wife Misty of Columbia, MO; two brothers, Dennis McCoy of Pueblo, CO, and James McCoy of Aurora, CO; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn LeAnn and Asher James; and nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Kirksville, Missouri with Monsignor Marion Makarewich presiding. Family will receive friends for one hour prior to Mass. Interment in Mary Immaculate Catholic Cemetery in Kirksville, will follow Mass,
