Evelyn Marie (Smothers) Barnes, 86, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Kirksville Manor Care Center.
Born January 8, 1938 in Pana, Illinois, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Lyberger) Smothers. Evelyn was united in marriage to Wayne Barnes who preceded her in death.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol and David McCarthy of Springfield, MO, and Dorothy Bass of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, as well as her long time partner, Jack Wood.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
