NATIONAL LEAGUE…
ATLANTA 8 – Milwaukee 6… Matt Olson’s second homer of the game was a two-run shot that broke a tie in the top of the eighth inning and sent the Braves past the Brewers. Olson belted a three-run homer in the third. Austin Riley smacked a two-run shot and Marcell Ozuna homered with the bases empty.

PITTSBURGH 6 – Philadelphia 4 (10 innings)… Josh Palacios cracked a two-run homer in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Pirates a walkoff win over the Phillies on his birthday. Brian Reynolds also homered with a runner aboard for Pittsburgh.

N.Y. METS 5 – Washington 2… Justin Verlander (6-5) recorded his 250th career victory in pitching the Mets past the Nationals. He allowed a run on five hits over 5-1/3 innings. Jeff McNeil legged out a tie-breaking triple in the bottom of the third inning. Francisco Lindor hit a solo homer.

ST. LOUIS 3 – Chi. Cubs 0… Steven Matz (2-7) pitched four-hit ball over six innings and two Cardinals relievers completed the shutout of the Cubs. Andrew Knizner went 2-for-3 with a run-scoring single.

Cincinnati 9 – L.A. DODGERS 0… Graham Ashcraft (6-7) pitched five-hit ball over six innings and two relievers did the rest in the Reds’ bombing of the Dodgers. Joey Votto hit a two-run homer and doubled home a run. Elly De La Cruz and Matt McLain also went deep.

AMERICAN LEAGUE…
L.A. Angels 3 – TORONTO 2 (10 innings)… Hunter Renfroe hit a two-run homer in the top of the 10th inning and the Angels hung on to outlast the Blue Jays. Renfroe’s sacrifice fly in the third scored Shohei Ohtani with the game’s first run.

Cleveland 5 – CHI. WHITE SOX 0… Aaron Civale (5-2) limited the White Sox to four hits over six innings and three Guardians relievers shut the door. José Ramírez homered twice and knocked in three runs for Cleveland.

KANSAS CITY 2 – Minnesota 1… Maikel Garcia doubled home Nicky Lopez with a tie-breaking run in the bottom of the third inning and the Royals held off the Twins the rest of the way. Freddy Fermin opened the scoring with a second-inning homer. Ryan Yarbrough (4-5) surrendered a run on seven hits over seven innings.

Tampa Bay 8 – HOUSTON 2… Josh Lowe’s bases-clearing doubled capped a four-run top of the first inning and the Rays never looked back in their pounding of the Astros. Brandon Lowe singled home a run and hit a two-run homer. Zack Littell (1-2) gave up two runs on eight hits over six innings.

BALTIMORE 9 – N.Y. Yankees 3… Adam Frazier’s three-run homer highlighted a seven-run bottom of the first inning and the Orioles coasted past the Yankees. Ryan O’Hearn knocked in three runs with a single and a double.

INTERLEAGUE
MIAMI 8 – Detroit 6… The Marlins came from four runs down after 4-1/2 innings to down the Tigers. Garrett Hampson capped a four-run bottom of the fifth inning with a game-tying two-run double. Garrett Cooper hit a two-run homer and Jean Segura added a solo shot for Miami.

COLORADO 2 – Oakland 0… Ty Blach (1-0) held the Athletics to three hits over five innings and four Rockies relievers tossed a scoreless inning each in preserving the shutout. Ryan McMahon drove in the game’s only runs with a triple in the top of he third inning and a double in the fifth.

SAN FRANCISCO 4 – Boston 3 (11 innings)… Joc Pederson singled home Patrick Bailey with a tie-breaking run in the bottom of the 11th inning to lift the Giants over the Red Sox. Bailey’s infield grounder brought home a tying run in the eighth.

Seattle 4 – ARIZONA 0… Luis Castillo (7-7) tossed two-hit ball over six innings and got help from three relievers as the Mariners blanked the Diamondbacks. J.P. Crawford homered for Seattle. Ty France and Eugenio Suárez delivered run-scoring singles.

SAN DIEGO 5 – Texas 3… Gary Sánchez led off the bottom of the fourth inning with a tie-breaking homer and went deep again in the fifth as the Padres topped the Rangers. Juan Soto and Xander Bogaerts each had a couple of hits and an RBI. Blake Snell (8-8) allowed just an unearned run on four hits over five innings.
