Tennessee Ann O’Dell Klocke, 89, of Edina, Missouri, formerly of the Bee Ridge Community, passed away Wednesday evening, June 7, 2023, at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
“Tennie Ann” was the youngest of six children, and her mother died six weeks after Ann’s birth. She was raised by various family members until the age of 10 when she made a permanent home with Bill and Lista Hyder who saw her through her graduation from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, TN, in the Class of 1954.
Ann was employed with the University of Missouri as a Home Extension Agent in Knox County, before meeting Kenneth Klocke. They were married in Novelty, Missouri on October 6, 1956, and celebrated 66 years together before Kenneth’s passing on May 17, 2023. Ann’s culinary skills were known by many in the county and enjoyed daily by her family.
Ann is survived by; her children, Beverly Kay and Joe Coffelt of California, Missouri, Lou-Ann and Charles Fowler of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Merle Edward Klocke and his significant other Paula Bradshaw of Brashear, Missouri, Mark Ralph and Teri Klocke of Knox City, Missouri and Clayton and Melissa Rice, that they treated like a son; grandchildren, Shanna Cochran, Hunter Klocke, Ethan Fowler, Austin Fowler, Evan Fowler, Taylor Ann Klocke, Logan Manning Klocke, Eric and Sally Engelbrecht, Gregory and Remmington Engelbrecht, Katrina, Ron, and Lathan York, April, Kenna and Weston Engelbrecht, Johnnie Lewis and Joe and Jaymee and Kyree Engelbrecht; a sister-in-law, Alice O’Dell; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Effie O’Dell; her husband, Kenneth Leon Klocke; a son, baby boy Klocke; a grandson, Aaron Fowler; her siblings: June Milligan, Lillie O’Dell, William O’Dell, Juel O’Dell, and Robert O’Dell.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri with the family receiving friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Bee Ridge Cemetery southeast of Edina, Missouri at a later date.
