NATIONAL LEAGUE
Arizona 10 – WASHINGTON 5… The Diamondbacks overcame an early three-run deficit to double up on the Nationals. Gabriel Moreno’s second RBI single of the game broke a tie in the top of the fifth inning. Pavin Smith cracked a three-run homer.
CINCINNATI 9 – L.A. Dodgers 8… The Reds rallied to score three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning and upend the Dodgers. Matt McLain singled home Spencer Fairchild with the winning run after Curt Casali drew a bases-loaded walk and Jake Fraley was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded. Tyler Stephenson went 3-for-5 with a two-run single.
ATLANTA 6 – N.Y. Mets 4… Sean Murphy’s two-run double sparked a four-run bottom of the sixth inning that pushed the Braves past the Mets. Marcell Ozuna drove in two more runs for Atlanta. Ozzie Albies homered with the bases empty.
San Francisco 10 – COLORADO 4… The Giants built an 8-0 lead after 4-1/2 innings and never looked back in their thrashing of the Rockies. J.D. Davis knocked in three runs. LaMonte Wade went 3-for-3 with a two-run single. Thairo Estrada and Patrick Bailey each had three hits and an RBI.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
TAMPA BAY 7 – Minnesota 0… Zach Eflin (8-1) pitched three-hit ball over 6-2/3 innings and two Rays relievers completed the shutout of the Twins. Luke Raley homered with a runner aboard and Jose Siri added a solo homer for Tampa Bay.
Chi. White Sox 3 – N.Y. YANKEES 2… Seby Zavala homered twice and knocked in all three runs as the White Sox held off the Yankees. Lucas Giolito (5-4) left after six hitless innings and got help from three relievers.
TORONTO 5 – Houston 1… Blue Jays starter Kevin Gausman (5-3) held the Astros to a run on four hits and struck out 13 over seven innings. George Springer hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the third inning. Daulton Varsho and Bo Bichette added solo shots.
Boston 5 – CLEVELAND 4… The Red Sox pushed across four runs in the top of the eighth inning and hung on to top the Guardians. Enrique Hernandez singled home a run and drew a bases-loaded walk. James Paxton (2-1) gave up two runs on six hits over seven innings.
INTERLEAGUE
PHILADELPHIA 1 – Detroit 0… Kyle Schwarber’s homer to lead off the game provided all the offense the Phillies needed to clip the Tigers. Taijuan Walker (5-3) allowed just two hits over seven innings and two relievers did the rest.
MIAMI 6 – Kansas City 1… Jesus Sanchez’s leadoff homer sparked a five-run bottom of the fifth inning that carried the Marlins past the Royals. Bryan De La Cruz capped the uprising with a two-run double.
Oakland 11 – PITTSBURGH 2… Jace Peterson went 5-for-5 with a pair of homers and five RBIs to lead the Athletics in their pounding of the Pirates. Brent Rooker and Shea Langeliers also went deep for Oakland. James Kaprielian (1-6) allowed a run on four hits over six innings.
MILWAUKEE 4 – Baltimore 3 (10 innings)… Joey Wiemer singled home Andruw Monasterio with the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Brewers outlasted the Orioles. Brice Turang singled home a tying run in the eighth.
TEXAS 6 – St. Louis 4… Marcus Semien stretched his hitting streak to 25 games with a tie-breaking two-run double in the bottom of the fourth inning and the Rangers went on to down the Cardinals. Adolis Garcia went 4-for-4 with a solo homer. Ezequiel Duran went 3-for-3 and scored a run.
L.A. ANGELS 7 – Chi. Cubs 4… The Angels came from four runs down after 3-1/2 innings to beat the Cubs. Mike Trout and Matt Thaiss each produced two-run singles during a five-run bottom of the fifth inning. Shohei Ohtani and Taylor Ward hit solo homers for L.A.
Seattle 4 – SAN DIEGO 1… The Mariners eased past the Padres to snap their three-game skid. Teoscar Hernández hit a tie-breaking solo homer in the top of the sixth inning and singled home a run. Julio Rodriguez homered to lead off the eighth. Logan Gilbert (4-3) surrendered a run on three hits over seven innings.
