William Stanley Morehead, 61 years old, of Milan, Missouri, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Sullivan County Memorial Hospital in Milan.
Stan was born December 5, 1958 in Milan to Hugh William Morehead, Jr. and Joy Lea (Barbee) Morehead. On June 27, 1977 he married Michelle (Sharp) Morehead, she survives him of the home. Also surviving: Three sons, Josh Morehead of Lampe, Missouri, Jeremy Morehead of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Tyler Morehead of Milan; four grandchildren, Myles Morehead, Cole Morehead, Kamie Morehead, and Kinzlee Morehead; one brother, Danny Morehead and wife Laurie of Warsaw, Missouri; two sisters, Sherry Brinkley and husband James of Milan, and Bridgette White (Dennis Shephard) of Milan; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Stan was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County, graduating from Milan C-II High School in 1977. He then worked for his father and local sale barns, including Unionville Livestock and later Green City Livestock. They then bought Green City Livestock, and owned and operated it for several years before selling it. Stan currently worked for Unionville Livestock. He was a member of the Milan Elks Lodge, and was a past member of B.A.S.S. and the Green City Roping Club. He loved fishing in tournaments and enjoyed roping. Stan liked to coyote hunt and arrowhead hunt. He also enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
A private graveside for Stan will be held at Shatto Cemetery with a public gathering held at a later date. Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home is handling arrangements and the public can come and sign Stan’s register book or call 660-265-4646 and we will sign your name for you.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Stan’s Grandchildren.
