Nancy Lee (Riley) Summers, 83, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
Born October 21, 1936 in Galesburg, Iowa, Nancy was the daughter of William Bernard and Twyla Irene (Mosher) Riley. On May 20, 1955 in Kirksville, Nancy was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Summers who preceded her in death on September 23, 2005. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Chance Summers in 2000, two brothers, Bernard and Donald Riley, and one sister, Patsy Newcomer.
Nancy is survived by five children, Bobby (Barbara) Summers, and Sue (Marty) Burns all of Greentop, MO, Cathy Summers of Carson City, NV, Joe (Amy) Summers of Greentop, MO, and David (Suzanne) Summers of Callao, MO; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Riley of Kirksville, MO, and Jan Riley of Greentop, MO; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was a graduate from Kirksville High School with the Class of 1955. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, hunting mushrooms, and fishing. Her great love was time spent with her family and hosting Sunday family dinners.
Private graveside services will be held at the Greentop Cemetery in Greentop, with Pastor Tim Hodges presiding. Arrangements will be under the direction of Travis-Noe Funeral Home of Kirksville.
A Celebration of life in memory of Nancy Summers will be held at a later date.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Summers, Logan Summers, Bobby Summers, Joe Summers, David Summers, and Keyton Summers.
